In producing this podcast, I feel more comfortable using iMovie.I also feel more comfortable with all of the necessary steps from filming to posting online. With these new skills, I think my next two podcasts will improve.I think this podcast is a little more visually appealing than my first podcast. However, I think I will make my next podcast a bit simpler by including fewer images and a few head shots.I may even conduct interviews for my third podcast. In my first podcast, I had a hard time matching up the audio and video after inserting b-roll.But after working with the software this time, I think I can do this more easily for the next podcasts.
After reviewing my podcast, I think I like the way my screens match up with my words, especially at the beginning the podcast.I also worked hard to find images that corresponded with what I was saying.
There are several things I think I could change to improve this podcast.First, there were several images that were blurry, especially the blog screenshots.I think the screen shots were necessary to provide a visual image of different elements of blogs. However, I’d like to find a way to improve the quality of the images. If anyone has ideas, let me know.Second, I think my podcast could be improved by including transitions between images and text screens. Finally, I would like to add music to at least the beginning of my podcast.I think this will improve the podcast and make it a little more interesting. So, I plan to research how to incorporate music into my next podcast.
I think it is kind of funny that I am commenting on a blog site about a podcast on blogs. I'm not so sure why I find that humorous, but I do. I thought you did a really good job with this podcast. You talked in your post a little bit about having problems matching up you audio with the pictures or other b-roll. I thought, however, the audio matched up quite nicely. There were a few times they were off a little bit, but just by fractions of a second. One thing you might think about is leaving the section title slides up a little longer. Some of them went by a little too fast for me to read all of the text. You obviously took a lot of time to research your subject, and to find pictures to go along with your audio. You used some real creative pictures that fit with your presentation very well. I especially liked the two-way road sign. I thought that was really clever. Your use of pictures also helped keep the viewer's attention. I got caught up listening and looking at the visuals and did not even notice you were not on screen. It is not a huge deal, but you might think about including some sort of music or sound effects; it might add a little to the cast. Overall this was a very good podcast. You did a great job of informing us of blogs and why companies use them. I also enjoyed the use of examples to go along side your points. Good job.
I felt this podcast did a fine job in explaining how companies use blogs. I have seen how adage.com's writers have their own blogs, and was curious to see how many companies have conducted similar exercises. I felt you did a great job in picking the images to go with the presentation. I wanted to see some examples of company blogs, and you showed us Southwest Airlines' blog. The narrative was clear and explained the topic well. I feel what would have made it more fun was a bit of mood music to go with the images and the opening slide. Since a lot of your pictures were upbeat, some mood music could have given it that extra punch. One or two slides went by quite fast. The rest was excellent. I look forward to watching the next podcast. Overall, I was impressed with the content and style of this podcast.
I like the titling at the beginning, though you need to watch the background noise. You are on track in your comments about the screen shots. You may need to zoom in on the Web pages. Your titles seem to vary a bit here and there. Try to keep the font size a bit more consistent. One of the challenges to working with this type of audio is the need for it flow well. You may need to record multiple takes (you may already be doing this). You may also want to consider using GarageBand to record your audio (if for no other reason than the booth is quiet). I can show you the basics or you can set up an appointment with the folks that run the booth.
From a content perspective you did a good job, particularly in terms of making sure the user knows what they are getting ready to find out about. The music in/out sounds like a good idea. I look forward to seeing the next one.
I thought you did a very good job making this podcast and it was very informative and to the point. I liked how you used so many voice overs and the b-roll was relevant. I think you did a good job matching your audio and video and it showed improvement from your first podcast. The text slides were a bit too fast, not for reading reasons really, but because they were specific phrases you were saying in the voice over and the timing was a bit off. Next time I would watch for background noise; I could hear your papers during the voice overs, but it wasn't extremely distracting or anything. Overall I think you did a great job producing this podcast and explaining your topic. I look forward to watching your next one. You have an interesting topic and you are able to explain it very well!
